Maternity Leave – LOA?

Hello-
I’m wondering if your sites process maternity leaves as a formal LOA? Or do you exclude maternity leaves in the LOA process?

Yes, they are on a LOA, however, they MEC can decide if their privileges should be suspended during the leave. We suspend people during LOA if we need proof of competency for re-entry into practice. That would not be required for maternity leaves.

We do not include maternity leaves for our LOA process unless they know they will be out for an extended period of time.
